As we plan a remodel, we’re exploring elements that should be foundational in our space—things that deliver strong value and long-term usefulness.
A few personal notes from our experience:
– We bought a personal sauna at the pandemic’s outset, and the cost-to-benefit ratio has been exceptional. It’s hard to imagine living without one now.
– I’ve had several knee surgeries from a lengthy rugby career, so ease of mobility will be important going forward. We’re planning to widen doorways and remove thresholds to accommodate a wheelchair or walker.
– Friends have recommended two sinks in the kitchen and soundproofing for a home office to improve daily convenience and productivity.
